Aiper Scuba S1 is worth shortlisting for a compatible in-ground pool when cordless cleaning, retrieval and charging fit the household’s schedule. Before buying, establish the exact generation and supplied filter. Current Aiper pages disagree on some coverage and runtime descriptions, so a headline alone is insufficient evidence for your pool.

We checked the US product page, its linked US store, Aiper’s model-year blog and CDC water-care guidance on 30 September 2026. We have not run a robot, measured particle capture or timed cleaning. Our source-conflict audit and cleaning-window worksheet are original buying analysis.

Establish which S1 is offered

The current US Scuba S1 product page lists an in-ground-pool size limit of 1,600 square feet and 50 feet in length. It lists a 3.5-liter basket, a 180-micron basket and 3-micron MicroMesh filter, with up to 180 minutes in its battery-life specification and three to four hours of charging.

The same page promotes 270 minutes in enhanced Eco mode. Its linked US store page presents a 2026 Upgrade and an OTA update. The page title alone does not tell you whether an older retailer unit has the same firmware, included filter or coverage capability.

Do not merge the largest number from each page into one imagined specification. Obtain the exact unit’s current manual, supported firmware and package contents before ordering. A Scuba S1 Pro, an E1, a filter cloth and an ordinary S1 are different purchases.

A source-conflict audit that changes the buying check

Aiper’s 2026 comparison blog describes 240-minute Eco operation and says S1 lacks waterline cleaning. The current product/store pages instead promote 270-minute enhanced Eco operation and waterline coverage. We cannot resolve those differences by choosing the most attractive claim.

Question What the checked pages show Required purchase check
Standard runtime Product specification says up to 180 minutes Match the operating mode and exact unit
Eco runtime Blog says 240; current product/store promote 270 Confirm firmware and what Eco mode actually does
Waterline coverage Blog denies it; current product/store promote it Obtain explicit confirmation for the selected unit
Fine filtration Product names both filter grades Verify the supplied frame and insert, not only compatibility
Generation Store calls the offer a 2026 Upgrade Check the unit identity and update eligibility

This is not evidence that every S1 lacks or includes a feature. It is evidence that a buyer should settle the exact package and software state before paying a premium. We have not measured whether either promoted runtime is achieved in a particular pool.

Filter grade does not prove a cleaning result

The published 3-micron description concerns the named filter, not a verified removal percentage in our testing. Confirm that the exact offer includes the correct insert and supporting frame. A replacement cloth listed as compatible may be only one component.

The distinction between navigation and filtration matters. If a robot does not reach a ledge, a finer filter does not create coverage. If the basket is damaged or incorrectly seated, a fine-particle label does not repair its fit. Assess the specific problem rather than buying the smallest number available.

The Dolphin E10 filter-basket audit covers a separate manufacturer’s parts. Maytronics uses S1 in basket naming, but that does not make its basket compatible with Aiper’s Scuba S1.

An original cleaning-window worksheet

Map the time when the pool is unused, someone can retrieve the robot and a dry charging location is available. The device’s advertised runtime is only one part of the schedule.

Stage Record for your household Why it matters
Deployment A permitted cleaning window with swimmers out Cleaning must fit actual pool use
Coverage Floor shape, transitions, ledges and obstacles Area alone does not establish navigation fit
Retrieval Who can safely retrieve and drain the unit? A cordless robot still needs handling
Filter care When can the basket be emptied and cleaned? A full basket can interrupt usefulness
Charging Dry location and the exact manual’s requirements Battery convenience depends on turnaround
Next use Time until another necessary cycle Recharging may be the limiting interval

For an illustrative planning exercise, a three-hour cycle plus thirty minutes of handling and a four-hour charge occupies seven and a half hours. Those are hypothetical scheduled intervals using one listed charge duration, not a measured cycle or a promised cleaning result. Apply the actual selected model’s instructions and required drying time; do not schedule from this example as an operating procedure.

The whole ownership cost

Compare the delivered robot cost, required compatible filter pieces, future consumables and any paid protection you actively choose. A bundle only saves money when its extra pieces are wanted and their separate comparison prices are current.

For example, a hypothetical $500 robot plus a $45 needed filter totals $545. A $530 bundle containing the same approved parts is $15 cheaper. If the robot already includes that filter, buying another one is an optional spare and should not be represented as essential. These are arithmetic examples, not current Aiper or Amazon prices.

A cordless design removes a floating power cable during operation but introduces charging and battery ownership. We cannot quote a battery replacement life, service cost or total maintenance saving from the checked pages. Confirm the exact seller’s warranty and repair route before purchase.

Pool care remains a separate job

A robot does not establish safe water chemistry. CDC’s home-pool guidance calls for regular chlorine and pH testing and appropriate adjustment. Removing visible debris does not replace that routine.

If leaves remain on the surface, the Betta SE Plus review addresses a different tool. If a simple floor-only pool is the actual requirement, our E10-versus-E1 comparison covers another class of purchase.

Our buying conclusion

Shortlist Scuba S1 after confirming exact generation, firmware, pool geometry and filter contents. Pause when essential waterline or Eco behavior remains unresolved by the seller or manufacturer. A discounted older package is not automatically poor value, but it needs its own supported specification.
